MidAtlantic completed a comprehensive multi-phase renovation within an occupied multi-tenant building to create the Philip Jaisohn Memorial Foundation Wellness Plaza in North Wales, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1975 by Korean-American physicians, the Foundation established the Wellness Plaza as a one-stop health hub dedicated to expanding access to culturally responsive medical care, senior services, and mental health counseling for the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community.
Executed in three carefully coordinated phases, the project transformed the existing building into a vibrant community resource while maintaining uninterrupted operations for existing tenants. The work included the construction of a new administrative office suite for the Philip Jaisohn Memorial Foundation, a full fit-out of an on-site medical office, and the complete demolition and renovation of the Foundation’s former offices to create a new senior community center.
Designed to foster connection and engagement, the senior center features gathering spaces, activity areas, and a full-service commercial kitchen and café. Select common areas throughout the building were also renovated, and additional suites were established to accommodate the Foundation’s future growth and evolving community needs.
The project required extensive phasing and logistical planning to facilitate the seamless relocation of Foundation staff into their new offices while construction continued throughout the occupied facility. The completed Wellness Plaza reflects MidAtlantic’s expertise in delivering complex renovations that support healthcare, community engagement, and long-term organizational growth.
