As part of Villanova University’s transformation and integration of the former Cabrini University campus, MidAtlantic renovated the existing 13,328 SF, two-story Student Center into an upgraded mixed-use facility serving Villanova’s expanded campus community. The project was part of the broader effort to revitalize the newly acquired campus and prepare its existing facilities to support Villanova students, faculty, and staff.

The comprehensive renovation included significant structural, mechanical, life-safety, accessibility, and technology upgrades. Exterior work included demolition of the existing switchback ramp connecting the Student Center to the adjacent building, expansion of the existing loading dock, façade improvements at both building entrances, and installation of a new two-stop HydroFit machine-roomless elevator to improve accessibility throughout the facility.

Interior improvements included new finishes throughout, extensive mechanical system upgrades, and installation of a new fire sprinkler system. The project also incorporated a new $125,000 audio/visual system, providing enhanced technology and flexibility to support the building’s expanded role on the Cabrini Campus.

Through the thoughtful reuse and modernization of the existing Student Center, the project helped transform an established Cabrini facility into a renewed space ready to serve the next chapter of campus life as part of Villanova University.
